Placing parts so the chip behaves.

Place decoupling capacitors next to supply pins, the crystal beside the clock pins, and keep fast signals short. Use a continuous ground plane.

Add test points for power, reset and serial lines, and a programming header. Label pin one and give every connector a clear name on the silkscreen.
